Panel will discuss the Michigan Petroleum Pipeline Task Force report on Mackinac Island.

Speakers include Jim Lively of the Groundwork Center for Resilient Communities, former Dow Chemical engineer Gary Street, Liz Kirkwood of FLOW (For Love of Water), and Dr. David Schwab, creator of an oil dispersion model for the University of Michigan. The session will offer an overview of the Michigan Petroleum Pipeline Task Force Report, released Tuesday, July 14, which includes the state’s recommendations for Line 5. Panelists will cover immediate emergency measures and timelines that public groups would like to impose on Line 5. The recommendations will be sent to Governor Rick Snyder and Attorney General Bill Schuette.
