This free workshop is part of Tip of the Mit Watershed council's Northern Michigan Pipeline Education Project, funded by the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, to raise awareness and understanding of pipelines and the way the community can work collaboratively to reduce potential risks and impacts of pipeline failures.

Topics to be covered include: Pipeline Inspections, Commodities, Oil Spill Cleanup Technologies, the worst case discharge for Line 5 at the Straits of Mackinac based on NOAA’s water current modeling and oil spill trajectories. Speakers include: Attorney Bill Schuette (invited), Enbridge Energy, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
