This regular edition of the Mackinac Straits Corridor Authority (MSCA) meeting on Friday, Oct. 23, will be anything but ordinary.
After the July Michigan Supreme Court ruling that voided the tunnel permit issued by the Michigan Public Service Commission, and after Governor Whitmer and EGLE Director Roos announced in September that they will revisit the EGLE permits based on this decision, the tunnel plan is adrift. Join us at this meeting to call for a freeze in MSCA spending, demand the promised Line 5 pipeline hydrotest as prescribed by the agreements, and apply pressure to begin an orderly shutdown of the pipeline.
We'll share more information about talking points if you wish to give public comment at the meeting after you RSVP to attend.
We hope to see you in St. Ignace to join us in finishing the job to protect the Great Lakes from this high-risk shortcut.
Can't attend in person? Submit your written comments here no later than 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22.
