Politicians and elected officials will be visible and active in our communities this fall. We want to ensure they know shutting down Line 5 is their top priority.

Michigan's Senator Gary Peters has the opportunity to be a leader in protecting the Great Lakes from a disastrous oil spill. But now he needs to hear from constituents and concerned citizens across the country that to truly support the Great Lakes, he must help us advocate for a Line 5 shutdown to President Biden. He has the power to shut it down.

We'll also have the opportunity for you to contact Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to urge him to help us shut down Line 5. Buttigieg recently deflected responsibility in a false claim about the 1977 Pipeline Transit Treaty, so we'll discuss how the Canadian government is weaponizing that to protect Enbridge. We'll also thank the Bay Mills Indian Community's legal team for ensuring Michigan EGLE's permitting process for the proposed tunnel is as rigorous as possible.
