Federal regulators try to calm Levin, Stabenow concerns over pipeline safety

Cynthia Quarterman, the head of the federal Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, wrote U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow recently to say "significant safety improvements" have been made.

PHMSA tries to reassure U.S. Senators Stabenow, Levin and Durbin, in response to the Senators’ request to show that the Straits pipeline is safe under its increased flow in 2013.
