Michigan Native American tribal members and supporters of the Oil & Water Don’t Mix campaign are spearheading Pipe Out Paddle Protests around Labor Day in Chicago.

Surfrider Foundation is leading the Chicago Pipe Out Protest with a message that protecting the Great Lakes from Line 5 is a regional concern.

“Chicago is on Lake Michigan and people here care deeply about protecting the Great Lakes,” said Sarah Damron of Surfrider Foundation. “Surfrider members take to the beaches and water all around the Great Lakes and understand better than most that oil and water don’t mix.”
