North American Oil Spill Day - Marysville, MI

On the 14th anniversary of the Enbridge Kalamazoo River spill - one of North America's largest oil spills, we must draw a line in the sand.

Join an emerging, growing international cross-border coalition on Thursday, July 25, 2024, as we participate in North American Oil Spill Day. Together, Canadians and Americans in the Great Lakes region will act in concert through decentralized actions to spotlight the continued threat to our families, waters, and climate from Enbridge pipelines.

We will gather at 1:30 pm at Marysville Veterans Park, near the spot where Enbridge's Line 5 crosses under the St. Clair River and returns to Canada. You are encouraged to bring signs and art. We are looking for groups of people in communities across our state to participate. At this event, our staff will be there to support and direct you, with the goal of capturing photos and videos to show that people across the U.S. and Canada are standing up to Enbridge and their dangerous pipelines like Line 5.
