We're extending an invitation to select supporters of Oil & Water Don't Mix to hear about the work to decommission Line 5 and prevent the Enbridge oil tunnel.
Join us for an update on where things stand with the upcoming trial of The People of Michigan vs. Enbridge. We'll also have a little fun.
When you RSVP, you will receive your Zoom webinar registration link via email. You must click on the link in your confirmation email to register with zoom! The link will be personalized to you. If others want to join they will have to RSVP, too, so please don't share the link.
This OWDM Live! features three leading Line 5 experts:
Beth Wallace, who manages conservation partnerships for the National Wildlife Federation and helped establish the Great Lakes Business Network. Beth will discuss why businesses are supporting Attorney General Nessel’s suit against Enbridge, which could force a shut down of the dangerous Line 5 oil pipeline in Straits of Mackinac.
Liz Kirwood, environmental attorney and Executive Director of For Love Of Water (FLOW). FLOW, the Great Lakes Business Network, the City of Mackinac Island, Sierra Club, and the attorney generals of California, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, have filed amicus briefs in support of Attorney General Nessel’s suit, which is the focus of Friday’s court hearing. If you haven’t registered to view the hearing you can still do so now.
Jeffrey Insko, an Oakland University literature professor, is currently writing a book about the massive 2010 Enbridge oil pipeline rupture along the Kalamazoo River. Insko wrote in his blog last week about Enbridge’s efforts to bypass the review and approval of its proposed Line 5 oil tunnel by the Michigan Public Service Commission. Beth Wallace and Insko are both on the Board of Directors of the Pipeline Safety Trust.
This will take place on east coast time!
