Michigan’s future goes on trial as Canada’s Enbridge and Michigan’s Attorney General Dana Nessel face off in what could be--what should be--the end of the line for oil pipelines in the Great Lakes when the People of Michigan have a most important day in court.
RSVP to receive the live video link from the Ingham County Circuit Court to hear oral arguments in Attorney General Nessel’s lawsuit against Enbridge. The Attorney General wants to shut down Line 5 in the Straits of Mackinac. Enbridge, however, wants to shut down Nessel’s lawsuit and the People of Michigan. Ingham County Circuit Court Judge James Jamo will decide after hearing from both sides in this court hearing on motions for summary judgment.
In the legal ring with Enbridge will be the American Petroleum Institute--Big Oil--and the fossil fuel industry, who all want Jamo to dismiss Attorney General Nessel’s suit. Supporting Nessel and the People of Michigan are the Attorney Generals of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and California, the Great Lakes Business Network, the City of Mackinac Island, FLOW (For Love of Water), and Sierra Club.
All of us have a huge stake in the outcome. We need to let Enbridge know that when it comes to protecting the Great Lakes, the People of Michigan show up.
RSVP Now to receive the live stream link, and we'll also send you reminders.
