Enbridge’s Line 5 oil pipeline in the open water of the Great Lakes was briefly shut down on Thursday, June 18 due to newly-discovered pipeline damage. Despite Gov. Whitmer's formal request of Enbridge to inspect the damage and then report what happened before the pipeline was restarted, it chose to ignore the request and restarted the pipeline Friday without providing the requested damage information.
