We'll gather at 6:30 for some food potluck-style (bring something to contribute!), learn a bit about Line 5, dialogue with each other, and listen to some live original music for the movement ft. Sunni Leilani & Eóin Small as part of an open mic 7-10 pm as we strengthen our water protector community around the Great Lakes.

It's all going down at Spread Art - join us! Bring a friend, seeya there! If your local org/ag wants to be involved - PLEASE REACH OUT! This solidarity tour hopes to amplify ALL of the amazing work being done to protect our water!

Please RSVP below AND at the Facebook event!

The LINE 5 EMERGENCY:

The Line 5 oil pipeline is a few yards from imminent catastrophe at the Bad River Reservation in northern Wisconsin. Springtime flooding and rapid erosion have caused the Bad River to come within 10 feet of the pipeline. The next rainfall event could cause a “guillotine rupture” – a vertical break causing oil to gush from both sides, poisoning Mashkiiziibii (Bad River), Gichigami (Lake Superior), and Madeline Island.

Enbridge Line 5 is a 70-year-old pipeline running two decades past its engineered lifespan. It's operating illegally in Wisconsin and Michigan and could rupture at any time into the Straits of Mackinac, causing an oil disaster in Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. Enbridge’s analysis shows that gas prices would go up by less than a penny in Wisconsin and Michigan if Line 5 is shut down.
