Join organizers for a community & movement-building gathering in solidarity with Bad River's demand to immediately and permanently #ShutDownLine5!

We'll gather, eat some food potluck-style 6-7p (bring something to contribute!) and then from 7-9p(ish) we'll learn a bit about the Line 5 emergency, hear from local organizers, dialogue, listen to some live original music for the movement ft. Sunni Leilani & Eóin Small (who are in the bus traveling with the "tour") strengthen our water protector community around the Great Lakes.

Wanna jam with a couple singer/songwriters? Bring your instrument!

We'll gather at 323 East River Rd Traverse City, MI, 49696. We'll be outside, weather permitting, in the barn if not. Look for a big "The Time is Now" and good vibes!

Bring a friend, seeya there! If your local org/ag wants to be involved - PLEASE REACH OUT! This solidarity tour hopes to amplify ALL of the amazing work being done to protect our water!

Please RSVP below AND at the Facebook event!

Line 5 Emergency Situation:

The Line 5 oil pipeline is a few yards from imminent catastrophe at the Bad River Reservation in northern Wisconsin. Springtime flooding and rapid erosion have caused the Bad River to come within 10 feet of the pipeline. The next rainfall event could cause a “guillotine rupture” – a vertical break causing oil to gush from both sides, poisoning Mashkiiziibii (Bad River), Gichigami (Lake Superior), and Madeline Island.

Enbridge Line 5 is a 70-year-old pipeline running two decades past its engineered lifespan. It's operating illegally in Wisconsin and Michigan and could rupture at any time into the Straits of Mackinac, causing an oil disaster in Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. Enbridge’s analysis shows that gas prices would increase by less than a penny in Wisconsin and Michigan if Line 5 is shut down.
