The Snyder-Enbridge deal pushes the message on Line 5 towards tunneling and other high-risk alternatives that fail to protect the Great Lakes, and away from decommissioning. However, it also moves the debate further away from Pipeline Safety Advisory Board (PSAB) actions and back towards the two figures who can actually revoke the easement and begin the decommissioning process- Snyder, and Schuette.
The Michigan Pipeline Safety Advisory Board has determined that concerns about Enbridge Line 5 require it to be shut down at least until inspections and repairs are completed.
This event will highlight their responsibility and failure to act, as we protest in front of their offices, and drop off PSAB comments that have already been submitted online wrapped up as gifts.
