Please tell Gov. Snyder we need to decommission Line 5 under the great Lakes now.

Rep. Sue Allor held a meeting with constituents today (Sat). My wife and I attended, and hand delivered a “Line 5” letter. Allor said she is still gathering information, awaiting the results of an “independent” study the state is doing which she expects sometime next month. Allor would not take a position now on shut down. Suggest that every effort be made to get constituents to contact her.

Why are we waiting?! This is a no-brainer!! If the UP citizens are concerned about the cost of their fuel, then let’s give them subsidies. The risk to the purity of our great lakes should not be taken so carelessly!!!

Shut down line 5!!!!!!!!

The potential of a rupture in line 5, not only in the straights of Mackinaw but also along the northern coats of lake Michigan, is far to great to allow the line to continue running. All of Michigan and every state out to the Atlantic would be affected. Current technology would allow different means of oil transportation and even an alternative to using oil in the first place. There is no need to risk the largest environmental disaster this country has ever seen. Especially in one of the most important areas in the world. Contaminating these waters would destroy the ecosystem for decades to come. Please do your best to shut down this line and propose other means of transporting this oil or at least rebuild the line so if a rupture did indeed happen it would not destroy the area everyone in this country holds dear.
