Fire Set at Crystal Falls in 1999
Make a phone call on this Day of Action
Today marks the 17th Anniversary of the Largest Spill to date in Line 5's history, which occurred in Crystal Falls, MI on November 2nd, 1999. The spill dumped 226,000 gallons of crude and natural gas liquids into a marsh in Michigan's upper peninsula. After nearby residents were evacuated, Enbridge officials ignited a resulting vapor cloud to prevent it from spreading, which sparked a raging fire that burned for 36 hours and scorched eight acres of land.
Let's make sure this never happens again. On this day of action, call Attorney General Schuette's office and then report your call below.
