It's time! The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is beginning the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed Great Lakes Tunnel permit.

This is the first IN PERSON event to add your voice to this process. The USACE is determining the scope of the EIS - what should they consider studying to determine how the proposed Enbridge oil tunnel for Line 5 will impact the environment? There are many concerns, including:

  • Is the Line 5 pipeline unnecessary?
  • Would the tunnel negatively impact the environment?
  • Will a tunnel be unsafe?
  • Would the tunnel threaten important Native American artifacts on the lakebed?
  • Would this project accelerate climate change?

The resounding answer to all these questions is YES!

Join us in St. Ignace at the upcoming scoping meeting of the USACE to help point out these necessary topics to study.

RSVP below to let us know you're coming!

We organized a bus from Traverse City and a bus from Ann Arbor/Lansing if you'd like to get to St. Ignace the fun way.

Other opportunities include another online meeting on October 6 and submitting comments online.
